Windows 10 eduroam Wifi Configuration : quick method

  1. Select the icon to access the internet from the task bar in the lower-right.You will see an icon that will look like one of the images below.
  2. Select eduroam from the list of available Networks and select Connect.
  3. Set the user name to your AEI user name and the enter your AEI computer password. Your AEI user name must be appended with @aei.mpg.de (e.g. johnhoskins@aei.mpg.de).
  4. You will be prompted to Continue connecting. Select Connect.

Automatic Configuration with the CAT Software Tool

  1. Download the eduroam cat profile for our Institute (search for "Grav".
  2. Run the setup wizard (file you downloaded) to install the eduroam profile with <USERNAME>@aei.mpg.de
  3. Use your AEI computer account USERNAME with @aei.mpg.de appended to it (e.g. bobsmith@aei.mpg.de) and your AEI computer password.

  1. Open Windows Settings and click on "Network and Internet"
  2. Click on "Network and Sharing Center" towards the bottom of the window
  3. then click on "Set up a new connection or network"
  4. Choose "Manually connect to a wireless network"
  5. Network name: "eduroam" and Security type: "WPA2-Enterprise" and then click "Next"
  6. Click on "change connection settings"
  7. Navigate to the Security tab and click on the "Settings" button for PEAP
  8. Then click on "OK" and then click on the "Advanced Settings" button.
  9. Check the "Specify authentication method" and select "User authentication"
  10. Click on "Save credentials" and then enter your AEI computer account USERNAME followed by @aei.mpg.de and then your AEI password
  11. Then OK, OK, OK, Close.
